Derbyshire LBGT+ are looking for a volunteer to support their Families Worker Sonia and A, our families volunteer to continue running our Chesterfield Family Group for the LGBT+ community.
Currently the group is running on the 2nd Sunday of the month, at the Chesterfield centre on 51 Rutland Road, Chesterfield, S40 1ND from 11-1pm.
Volunteering for the group would include setting up the space together, interacting with the families throughout by chatting, playing games, doing crafts, making hot drinks, then tidying up and reflecting on the session. Derbyshire LGBT+ will provide an enhanced DBS check for those joining as well as volunteer training which goes over safeguarding aspects. There is also a budget for volunteer travel for the next year.
The family groups have been an important part of many people's journeys..
